Looking for a dog friendly holiday?
Here at Ty Nant we know that the best holidays are those when your canine best friends can come too. That's why we welcome up to two well-behaved dogs at Ty Nant and try to offer all those little extras that make going on holiday with your dog, easier and more fun.
Dog friendly beaches
West Wales is a very dog friendly place to spend your holiday, with all beaches open to dogs from 1st October through to the end of April. From 1st May to 30 September, there are some restrictions in place, but of all the local beaches, only New Quay town beach and Mwnt beach are closed to dogs. All other beaches, including our own beach at Tresaith, Llangrannog and Poppit Sands operate a rule whereby dogs are allowed on the right hand side of the beach (as you look out to the sea) but not the left. At Aberporth, dogs are not allowed on the smaller Dolwyn beach in the summer months, while the larger Dyffryn Beach there welcomes dogs all year round.

Pubs and cafes where dogs are welcome
Most pubs and cafes and a lot of shops in Wales are also dog friendly, including Skippers and The Ship at Tresaith, the bar at the The Pentre Arms in Llangrannog (not the restaurant), and downstairs in The Ship in Aberporth.
All those extras to keep your dog safe and happy
If you make a booking with us at Ty Nant that includes your pet, we will make sure that there are some doggy treats in your welcome pack, and we will provide you with a range of items to make your holiday easier and more comfortable.
Dog blankets
Please do your very best to keep dogs off the furniture. However, we appreciate that some dogs are used to cuddling up next to you on the sofa at home and it can be a real struggle to keep them on the floor. If this sounds like your canine friend, then we ask that you please keep the furniture covered with one or more of the fleece dog blankets provided in the basket in the lounge.
Dog towels
There is an outside tap with a hose for washing paws, and there are dog towels provided for you in the laundry.

Scoop the poop
We will provide you with some poo bags and so that you can help to keep the grounds around Ty Nant tidy and clean for future guests.
Bowls
Just in case you forget to bring your dog a bowl, we will provide some food bowls and a water bowl for your dog to use during their stay.
Our rear garden is fully enclosed
For your peace of mind, the rear garden at Ty Nant, which is pebbled and has a wooden deck, is fully fenced and secure for your dog. However, please be respectful to our neighbours if your dog is a barker and please never leave your dog unattended for too long in the house or garden. Even the best behaved dogs can get distressed when left alone in a strange place. Most beaches and pubs and cafes in this area are dog friendly, so your furry friend can usually come out with you. If an emergency arises and you absolutely have to leave your dog alone at Ty Nant, please leave him or her in the kitchen or laundry only.
